April 19-29, 2012 “Quotable Quotes” brought each shop designing a 12” block and a 6” block that could be assembled in a very large quilt designed by Julie Geiger in Cozad with wonderful quilting related quotes. The bag price went up to $15 this year.  49 people visited all the shops in 2012 so will get a free bag for next year’s hop.  A water bottle with the logo on it was provided with every shop hop bag this year.

Shop Hop 2013 was titled “Border to Border”.  39 shops sold Nebraska themed fabric and created projects with free patterns to give to customers centering around things of Nebraska.  The fabric had a border print, a tossed print with features of our state, and tone on tone fabrics listing all 93 counties.  This was the 15th Annual NIFS shop hop and lasted from April 18-29, 2013.  Instead of a book we used a newspaper format with all of the information needed.  48 people visited all of the shops.  Over $12,000 was given away in gift certificates to winners from this shop hop.

“Postcards across Nebraska” was the theme for Shop Hop 2018. The block patterns from each shop were on a postcard that was given to each shop hopper and the bags contained a special envelope to store all your postcards. We had two different patterns to make the blocks into a quilt to choose from. One was a modern take and the other was a more conventional quilt pattern. Both were on post cards that were included in the Shop Hop Bags. 30 Shops participated.

“Boot Quilt’n Boogie” was the theme for the 2019 Shop Hop. A boot and spool pattern was included in the shop hop bag along with a fat quarter of fabric and a plastic folder to store patterns collected from each store. Fabric contained boots with the logo and each shop designed their own store brand featured on fabric. The hop was extended a week due to snow storm and flooding issues throughout the state, making it difficult for hoppers to visit the stores, however 62 hoppers visited 29 stores.

“Roaring Into the 20’s” was the 2020 Shop Hop theme. Art deco fabrics was featured in gold metallics with an alternate color of brights. Each store handed out a block pattern that could be put all together into a quilt with different sized patterns given to them. Hoppers also collected pearls from each shop to create something to remember Shop Hop 2020. This year, Covid-19 struck and shut down stores shortly after the hop started. Shop Hop was extended through June 3oth in hopes the pandemic would slow down to allow more hoppers to get to the participating stores. 33 hoppers made it to all 24 shops.

The theme for the 2021 shop hop was Quilters Rule Nebraska. Two fabric prints (from QT Fabrics) were designed. One fabric selection featured quilting tools and the other featured favorite quilting quotes. Both designs were available on a cream or black background.
