2015 brought “Follow the dots to Fun” for the hop. April 9- 19 hoppers collected polka dotted fabric at 31 participating shops. The feature fabric was white, red and black with dots and the letter N. It was very popular fabric. The burlap bags had dots on them and at each shop a custom designed pin was given out that they could attach to their bag or just collect. 81 hoppers went to all 31 shops.
“Seasons Sewn” was the 2016 theme for the April 7-16 shop hop. Fabric was done by Windham of a panel with a monthly square with the word Sew in it, two border prints, a white on white sewing notions and 3 colors of tossed prints. 34 shops participated
“Making History in Nebraska” was the theme for 2017. We joined in the 150th celebration of statehood for Nebraska with this theme. 32 shops are participating and the exclusive fabric line will have meadowlarks and goldenrod featured. Wooden nickels were given out by each store for collection, too.
“Postcards across Nebraska” was the theme for Shop Hop 2018. The block patterns from each shop were on a postcard that was given to each shop hopper and the bags contained a special envelope to store all your postcards. We had two different patterns to make the blocks into a quilt to choose from. One was a modern take and the other was a more conventional quilt pattern. Both were on post cards that were included in the Shop Hop Bags. 30 Shops participated.
“Boot Quilt’n Boogie” was the theme for the 2019 Shop Hop. A boot and spool pattern was included in the shop hop bag along with a fat quarter of fabric and a plastic folder to store patterns collected from each store. Fabric contained boots with the logo and each shop designed their own store brand featured on fabric. The hop was extended a week due to snow storm and flooding issues throughout the state, making it difficult for hoppers to visit the stores, however 62 hoppers visited 29 stores.
“Roaring Into the 20’s” was the 2020 Shop Hop theme. Art deco fabrics was featured in gold metallics with an alternate color of brights. Each store handed out a block pattern that could be put all together into a quilt with different sized patterns given to them. Hoppers also collected pearls from each shop to create something to remember Shop Hop 2020. This year, Covid-19 struck and shut down stores shortly after the hop started. Shop Hop was extended through June 3oth in hopes the pandemic would slow down to allow more hoppers to get to the participating stores. 33 hoppers made it to all 24 shops.
